| Examinations A midterm examination will be given during a regularly scheduled class period as indicated on the schedule. The exam will cover the material from all lectures preceding the exam. The exam will be a short essay format. The format will be similar to that used for the Neuroscience Graduate Program written preliminary examination. The final examination is a 'take-home exam'. Exams may be picked up between 9am and 4:30pm during the first four days of finals week in room 6-145 Jackson Hall beginning Monday at noon. Students have 24 hours from the time the exam is picked up to return it. The exam contains part of the background, methods and results sections from several published papers. Students are to write a discussion for each paper, integrating what is already known with the results given. If all the topics covered during the course are studied prior to taking the exam, then the exam can reasonably be completed in the allotted time. If each topic needs to be reviewed during the exam, then 24 hours will be too short. |
